The need for product owner positions is real. The marketplace of product owners can compete effectively in terms of pay since there is a greater need for these jobs. In addition to being in high demand, a project owner is in a great position to advance to other positions within the organisation, including senior product owners, scrum team leaders, portfolio owners, project leaders, directors of products, and perhaps even the CEO.

Why SAFe Product Owners Are Very Much in High Demand

A SAFe Product Owner: What Is It?

The team member who acts as the client’s representative is known as the SAFe Product Owner. To develop and list out tales in the team and rank them according to priority, they collaborate with Program Management, other P.O.s and stakeholders.

The SAFe P.O. should ideally work with the team in the same office. It may not always occur, however, with today’s scattered teams.

Two Agile teams may be supported by one P.O. at most. Working alongside the SAFe Product Owner, who upholds the overarching product vision is the SAFe Product Owner Certification.

Essential Functions & Duties of a SAFe P.O.

The primary duties of the SAFe P.O. include working with the whole Team and going above and beyond to participate in Program Management events where they will assist in planning and developing the Programme vision and streamlining the Program Backlog.

The SAFe P.O.’s primary duties are listed as follows:

1. P.I. Scheduling

The PO is an essential contributor to the broader Team of product managers and is required to participate in program planning activities. Every PO must actively participate in and be closely involved in the process of programme backlog refinement. The P.O. will participate in developing the roadmap and generating the vision before the event while also updating the Team.

SAFe POPM should be available to provide clarification as required while the brainstorming event is taking place. The whole SAFe Team will map out the forthcoming P.I. team’s P.I. goals.

2. Throughout the iteration

The P.O. is in charge of many crucial tasks throughout the execution of the iteration:

  • As during the Iteration Plan event, the P.O. clarifies the specifics of the user stories and is there to guarantee agreement and alignment on the final iteration plan
  • While the Team develops the retrospectives and stories, the P.O. monitors the flow and upholds priorities.
  • P.O.s utilise Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) principles as they collaborate with the Team to develop each story by adding admission requirements and acceptance tests.
  • The P.O. will collaborate with the entire Team as work proceeds to decide when approved tales should be completed. And check to determine whether they adhere to the established definition of doneness and quality criteria.

3. Review and Modification

Any significant obstacles to rapid development are addressed at the (I&A) session. The P.O. consults with various teams at this time to determine ways to speed up teams’ work and enhance team quality while also improving procedures. The P.O. engages in and conducts the P.I. system demonstration for programme stakeholders at the I&A session.

To direct the ART in developing the solution, SAFe uses a variety of artefacts, including Features, Tales, Non-Functional Requirements, design artefacts, and others. These work items are prioritised according to the programme and team backlog(s). They are overseen by the product owner, who is both in charge of the content of their separate backlogs. The results are best when creative thinking and constant exploration techniques along with online course benefits are used in this highly collaborative interaction.
